As I climb the Astrophotgraphy learning curve, I'll able to do a better job on M42, the showpiece nebula of the Northern skies.
This is my previous "prettiest" version:
And this one showed the most detail but was rather ugly, with lots of noise:
The latest shot is a marked improvement and shows quite a lot of delicate cloud detail, especially on the left side.
This is a composite of images taken at 1600 ISO. Total exposure time 2 minutes 17 seconds
