It's not all Birds Birds Birds here in Venezuela, I've also found time to take up a new hobby.
Having played the ukulele for a month once mastered the ukulele, I was ready for a new challenge, and I spotted this lovely instrument in the main music shop in Merida:
I wasn't quite sure what it was at first. It's...
....
a Mandolin.
Before I knew what had happened, I'd bought it, and signed up for a one and a half hour lesson.
The lesson went really well I think, though the language barrier was an issue. At the end of the session the guy said what I understood to be "Go now, there's nothing I can teach you." or something very similar, which was very gratifying.
I'm honing my skills over the rest of the holiday so expect a youtube video performance soon!
It suits you!
