If I've got my days and time zones right, by the time this post appears I'll be on the first of 3 planes home.
There are dozens of raptor species in Venezuela, and as I've mentioned before, my chances of identifying them (and most Venezuelan birds generally) would be very low without photographic support.
Luckily this one showed itself beautifully - if briefly - so that even I can be absolutely certain of the ID here: White-tailed Hawk (Buteo albicaudatus colonus)
